The WestSiders “Our Story” Book is the latest printed collection of remembrances of life on the Westside of Detroit and the accomplishments of those who came from humble beginnings. This book is very popular and enjoyed by many. It will provide an opportunity enjoy several reflections from Westsiders to reminisce of the past.

Within our beloved Village of Westside Black Detroit, we graduated from high school after the end of World War II, just in time to be recruited, if male, into the armed forces, and upon honorable discharge, to continue on a road, much earlier determined by the internalized values and ambitions of our age group, that took us to college and university campuses in different parts of the country.
